Your new mission
In this role as a DevOps Engineer Manager, you will lead a team of skilled DevOps Engineers. Your responsibilities will include recruiting and onboarding new team members, ensuring the successful implementation of DevOps practices, and providing strategic support to the Head of Platform Engineering.
You will play a crucial role in shaping architectural decisions and transitioning proof-of-concept projects into fully operational platforms. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing and maintaining Azure infrastructure using tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines and Terraform.
A key part of your role will be to mentor application teams, guiding them in deploying applications efficiently and improving processes based on DORA metrics. You will also monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance scalability and reliability.
What you need to succeed
- Extensive experience with Azure or hybrid cloud environments, with a strong preference for familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in Databricks, SQL DB, or Data Factory.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Azure Resource Management Templates.
- A solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerisation technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet and setting up CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and a thorough understanding of Agile methodologies.
