Your New Role
As a Modern
Workplace Consultant, you will support the business as the first line of
contact. You will work within the IT Services infrastructure team, which
consists of approximately 100 IT professionals. You will help design,
implement, and manage modern workplace solutions using Microsoft 365
technologies.
Responsibilities

Act as a primary technical
contact for key technical areas, coordinating with stakeholders and
colleagues as required.

Contribute to the
planning, design, and delivery of IT initiatives.

Configure tools to
automate the provisioning, testing, and deployment of infrastructure.
-
Produce and own system and
infrastructure designs, policies, and documentation.
-
Provide reports and
proposals for improvements to colleagues and stakeholders.
-
Provide advice and
guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools.
-
Drive IT Services in the
migration towards a code-centric model for managing infrastructure.
-
Proactively manage IT
infrastructure to minimise business disruption and identify and drive
initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the infrastructure
services.

Manage and provide 3rd
line support for infrastructure platforms in accordance with agreed
service levels, standards, and processes.

Embrace change and support
the IT Services vision and strategy.
Requirements
-
Experience working within
an Agile environment.
-
An appreciation of DevOps
principles.
-
An appreciation of
Infrastructure as Code principles and how they can be applied in an
enterprise environment.
-
Device management and deployment (e.g., Intune, Autopilot).
-
Understanding of
virtualisation techniques (e.g., VMware vSphere).
-
Packaging and delivery of applications.
-
Relevant certifications,
such as in Microsoft 365, are advantageous.
Technical Skills
-
Expertise in modern
workplace technologies (e.g., Microsoft 365).
-
Operating Systems (e.g.,
Windows 10/11).
-
Client applications (e.g.,
Office 365, Teams, OneDrive).
-
CVAD – Citrix Virtual
Desktop Infrastructure, Citrix Cloud, XenApp.
-
Machine build scripting
(e.g., MDT or similar).
-
Scripting and automation
in PowerShell.
-
Strong system
administration and troubleshooting skills.
-
Ability to create
High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs.
